Richard Hajj, fils de joaillier et artisan, est diplômé en Métiers d'art d'ébénisterie par l'Institut des métiers d'art du Québec.
« Une riche expérience de travail minutieux m'ont amené à la création d'une collection d'objets de bois et de bijoux. Parmi les premiers, on retrouve des petites boîtes, des porte-cartes, des coffres à bijoux ainsi qu'une gamme de plateaux de service. Fabriqués de bois locaux tel que le cerisier, le chêne, le noyer, ils sont souvent agrémentés d'une note de bois exotique ou d'étain. Les bijoux sont d'élégants mariages de matériaux tel que: bois exotiques, argent, aluminium et verre d'acrylique. Les formes géométriques simples, les lignes pures ainsi que les couleurs nettes font de ces bijoux contemporains de véritables sculptures miniatures. Toutes les pièces de mes collections sont fabriquées artisanalement une à une. Leurs constructions comportent des défis techniques créant ainsi des détails qui s'ajouteront à leur coquettes subtilités. »
Woodworks, fine wooden jewelry and jewelry sculpture
Richard Hajj, the son of a jeweler and craftsman, is a graduate of the Institut des métiers d'art du Québec with a degree in woodworking.
«A rich experience in intricate, detailed work helped me create a collection of wooden objects and jewelry. Among my first creations were small boxes, card holders, jewelry boxes and a variety of serving trays. Made of local wood such as cherry wood, oak and walnut, these pieces also often incorporate a subtle touch of exotic wood or pewter. My jewelry features an elegant blend of materials, including exotic wood, silver, aluminum and acrylic glass. With their simple geometric shapes, pure lines and distinct colours, these pieces of contemporary jewelry are like miniature sculptures in themselves. All the pieces in my collection are crafted one by one. The technical challenges involved in designing these objects led to the details that complement their eye-catching intricacies.»
