La boissellerie est l’art de créer des petits objets utilitaires ou décoratifs. J’aime jouer avec les couleurs naturelles du bois, la pyrogravure et d’autres techniques que j’expérimente au fil de mes recherches.Mon goût pour l’histoire et les sciences influence souvent mon travail. J’aime créer et faire connaître des objets rares et insolites. En 1988, j’ai découvert en France le métier de la transformation du bois lors d’un apprentissage chez les renommés Compagnons du Devoir. Depuis, la passion du bois ne m’a jamais quitté. La majeure partie du bois que j’utilise est coupé et séché sur place dans l’ancienne érablière où nous avons construit notre maison et atelier. Je substitue peu à peu le bois exotique recyclé par des bois locaux, des arbres fruitiers et des bois torréfiés. Boissellerie is the art of creating small useful or decorative objects from wood. As a craftsman, I enjoy working with the natural colors of wood, using wood-burning and other techniques that I have researched and experimented with. My work also reflects my keen interest in history and science. I love creating rare and unusual objects that capture the imagination. It was in France, in 1988, that I first explored the craft of woodworking during my apprenticeship with the renowned Compagnons du Devoir. Since this experience, wood has always been a passion. Most of the wood that I work with is cut and dried on-site from the old-growth maple grove where we built our house and workshop. I have been gradually replacing exotic recycled wood by local varieties, fruitwood and torrefied wood. Emmanuel Peluchon
