Colleen Schindler Lynch
Colleen Schindler-Lynch is the Owner/Designer of Coco’s Closet. She finished a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at the University of Windsor in 1990 then continued with graduate studies at Louisiana State University, finishing her Master of Fine Arts in 1993. While studying for her MFA, she had the opportunity to study other areas and so began a new love. She found creative expression in the jewellery studio. “I am attracted to the cut, colour, shape and texture of semi-precious stones, which I try to enhance with the combinations I create. The result is a collection of well designed, fashion forward jewellery with personality and presence. Versatile pieces that can be both contemporary & classic.” For the past 8 years Colleen has been teaching in the School of Fashion at Ryerson University in Toronto, Ontario, Canada where she instructs both accessory design and illustration. In 2005, she launched a personal accessory company called Coco’s Closet. Named after fashion icon Coco Chanel, who was famous for choosing just the right accessory, Colleen creates fashion forward jewellery with semi-precious stones and sterling silver. She was honoured in 2007 when she placed 4th overall in the Swarovski “Create your Style” worldwide competition with a hand-knit sterling silver Elizabethan collar. You may also have seen her work on the runway at Toronto Fashion week as well as illustrations in Education Today for the Ontario Public School Board Association. Stones from around the world.
