Peter Hamilton

"I make mostly wheel - thrown tableware and some garden pots fired to high stoneware temperature in a wood-burning kiln. I like to add texture to the pots with paddling or rope patterns and do some glaze trailing prefering not to over personalize my work through decoration. I suppose I'm more inclined to the traditional than the innovative when it comes to design. The nuance of form that throwing offers up and how these formal elements of foot and belly and lip and neck contribute to the final quality of the thing is most compelling to me. I sell my work through stores in Montreal and regional summer craft fairs."
